The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow takes place in Tarrytown,the local schoolmaster (Ichabod Crane),who falls in love with rich and beautiful Katrina Van Tassel.but has another suitor who was muscular and handsome,Brom Bones.he brags the number of fights he has fought.when Katrina Van invited Crane to her party at her house ,Crane rode a horse called Gunpowder,he borrowed from his friend,Hans.when he reached Van's house,everyone was ready for dinner,after dinner everyone dance .Then everyone sat down to listen to stories about the headless horseman, who haunted the graveyard at night.After the party,Crane on the way to home passed through the graveyard,one headless horseman chased him. The horseman chased him to the bridge where horseman's head thrown to him. Next morning,Crane was missing,people searched him.Finally,they found Cranes hat, and a few yards away they found a smashed pumpkin.
A CHRISTMAS CAROL
Chapter 1: Marley's Ghost
Marley was Scrooge's business partner.Marley was dead for 7 years.Scrooge was very stingy in terms of money.He was against the donation.During the christams eve,his nephew visited him,but he was chased out by Scrooge .his employee Bob was working for him,he wanted to save money,and didnt want to use more charcoal,Bob wanted get day off in christams day,Scrooge didnt want .and he wanted Bob come to work earlier after that day.After work,when Scrooge came back home,he was shocked that saw Marley's face,and he heard the sounds of the chains.He thought that was illusion.But he really saw his friend was chained .Marley came because he wanted to warn Scrooge,if Scrooge died,he will become worse than him.Marley said "But luckly,tonight would have three spirits come,they would save you ".Scrooge still didnt believe that he saw,he went to sleep , and hoped nothing happened tomorrow.
Chapter 2: The First of the Three Spirits
Scrooge suddenly woke up,and saw three spirits led him recall some past event.When Scrooge was a child ,he was alone sitting in the classroom,and his classmates were go back home to celebrate Christmas with their family.His father didnt care about him,but his sister went to school to pick him up,he felt so touched.Unfortunatly, his sister died early,she left his sons who was Scrooge's nephew,Scrooge felt so sorry to his nephew,because few hours ago,he just chased his nephew out.During a christmas,he was working with his colleagues,his boss asked them stop working,and they celebrated christmas together.Scrooge felt so sad,and so sorry to his employee Bob.His lover also left him because Scrooge change alot.she got married ,after few years,in the christmas,her husband told her that he saw Scrooge was woking so hard in his office,seemed like he was alone in the world.Finally,he could take it anymore,spirits was pressed down by him, and became a stream of light into the ground and disappeared.He returned his bedroom fell asleep.
This 2 stories are very good,quite easy to read and interesting... A Christmas Carol this story teach people how to be a nice person.If you treat people bad, you will get retribution.I will finish this book in next week.=''=

Do you the real Headless Horseman chased Ichabod? I'm suspicious because of the pumpkin. I can guess who wanted to get Ichabod to leave town, too!
As for Christmas Carol, this story has been made into movies many times, and usually the movies are very good. However, I don't know if I agree with you, that the story teaches us to be good so as to avoid retribution. It seems to me that the story is saying, no one will punish you, but you have the power to decide to be happy; and being good to other people is the way to be happy.
