I love you, mom Pg41-66
Chap10 is written by Deborah Roberts.
People are complicated. Not quite a lot of them are very smart. For example, people could hardly get emotional react very quick unless some true really gives them a shock. Like what this essay tells me. The author first use the word “complicated” to describe the later relationship among her mom and her is surprised me. Because the essay I read before in this book is always talking about how mother’s love is great, or wonderful, or maybe hateful. Therefore, I continued reading. The author’s mom is not a mind open person since she grown up in a small town, and she also had taught very traditionally. For author’s mom, she had has a hard time to take care of nine kids by herself, as a full time house wife the life for her is busy and boring. The author couldn’t understand her mom at the first. However, everything changed after the author turned to a mom. Her finally can understand how was her mom passed throw all the old days she has been taking care of the her and the rest of her brother and sisters.
Ch 11 written by Daisy Fuentes
Life for a young age mom is very hard, especially for a foreigner who moved to a brand new environment. The author in this essay gives us a brand new view of a mom. I learned that for these two chapters the mom’s. The author was born in Cuba, he moved to Spain with his family. And after that, he finally arrived to United States with his family. The author starts his new life with nothing. He had known none of English, and cultures. However, his mom encourages him a lot with her innocent. His mom always believes she should enjoy her life after she was recovered from breast cancer. Also, she believes nothing is impossible, and that is what she passed to the author.
Personal Opinion
After I read these several chapters, it makes me strongly feel that no matter how moms’ teach their children. They should always have some good reason. Mostly the way they taught is upon to theirs personal experience or family background. Like Ch10, the author’s mom grown up with her grandfather after her mother passed away; therefore, the she has been educated was very traditional. On the other hand, the mom from Ch11 was born in a big city as I guess, for the author was mentioned that his whole family was escaping for political reasons. So, the way those two moms taught their children were extremely different. But, put all the purpose in one, they were all tried their best combine with best wishes to their children. Wish them have a better future lives.
