Perfume- Patrick Suskind- Part 2, page 115

After Grenouille left the baker's dozen of Baldini. He went ahead to the south to learn more about controling the scents. He went with no pitiful about Paris because he knew every scents of this city. He went far away the city, towns, villages, and the air became clearer and clearer because of plants, trees, mountains around there. His nose smelled the mix of thousand odors at the human' place, so he was interested in the place where the air was clear and no human lived. He climbed to a mountain, stayed there like a king. He ate everything he could find on that mountain: snakes, lizards, bats, ravens in flesh or some plants on the rocks. He lived like that in seven years, until he realized something in his dream. He stood in the middle of fog, he couldn't smell the fog, it didn't have odor. In the deep inside of his mind, he recognized that the odor of the fog was the odor of himseft. He felt frightened, Grenouille who could smell everything but couldn't smell himseft. However, he had got an idea to have an own one for himseft. Grenouille countinued his journey.
He went to the next city, everybody had to be scared of him, his hair was long to his knees, his nails looked like the beast's. A marquis in that city who had many experiments that helpful for the city was interested in Grenouille, he could said the marks of "senile deterioration" on Grenouille and used a vital ventilation machine to heal. Just one week later, everybody couldn't believe that Grenouille was the caveman, all they saw was a really normal person. Also, at that time, Grenouille created a new perfume secretly, that was not a wonderful perfume this time, but a human perfume. He knew every humans smelled different and he exactly how to create it. At the first time, Grenouille used cat shit, decomposed cheese, rotten egg, ground etc to make his perfume. In the past, people went pass him but didn't notice him. Now when he used his perfume, people could notice him. For example, a woman who was washing the clothes stopped for a few seconds to know who was behind her, then she continued her work. The children who were running on the street scooted to one side to Grenouille had the way to go, not because they were scared of him. He jostled a man by accident, he stopped to apologized, the man accepted, and even smiled, clapped on his shoulder. That was all because of the new perfume, it made Grenouille became a normal human being in front of the other people.
He stayed at the city for a few days to talk with some people and practise his speaking, also practise lying. After that he left the city, nobody found him because he didn't use the perfume. The marquis who used the vital ventilation machine to heal Grenouille later still famous with what he did and his teaching. One day he climbed to a mountain to convince the cure for Grenouille, many people joined with him but then gave up. The marquis climbed alone, disappeared and never came back.

This part has a little...peaceful and quiet to prepair for the next part. To be truth, I can't believe that Grenouille can create a human perfume, but it's so amazing, he's really some kind of genius, and monster, too. This part is a little boring to me but I had to keep reading to know each interested occurence, the author really know how to make the reader held this book.
