Great Expectations written by Charles Dickens(page 1 to 34)

I`ve been reading a story written by Charles Dickens.There was a boy , whose name was Philip Pirrip.He couldnt pronounce his name correctly , he always pronounce his name Pip , so he became known as Pip . His parents and the five little brothers had died ; he lived with his sister , Mrs .Joe Gargery , who married the blacksmith .They lived in the marsh country, by the river . One raw afternoon toward evening ,he met a horrible young man . That man asked Pip to bring him a file and food , otherwise Pip`s heart and liver shall be torn out , roasted and eaten .When he came home , his sister was very angry with him because she didnt know where he was . Then he dared not eat his slice due to the fact that he must save food for the dreadful young man . He went to bed in mortal terror of the young man who wanted his heart and liver , so he was afraid to sleep .As soon as the light appeared in the sky , he got up and stole some bread , some cheese , about half a jar of mincemeat, some brandy .... . Then he seized a file from among Joe`s tools and ran for the misty marshes. When he came there , he saw that man seem awfully cold and look very hungry too. Pip set the file and his bundle on the damp ground before the man .Pip told the man that he had to go ,but the man took no notice , his head was bent over his knee and working hard at his iron fetter .Then ,Pip was also very much afraid of staying away from home any longer .On Christmas day , when Mrs Joe and Mr Joe were busy welcoming the guests , the soldiers arrived at the party . They wanted Mr .Joe to repair their handcuffs . When Joe`s job was done , Pip and Joe and Mr . Wopsle (the guest) went with the soldiers and saw what came of the hunt . The sergeant ran first and two of his men ran in close upon him , their gun were cocked and leveled ; after a while they heard one voice calling "Murder !" and another voice ,"convicts! Runaways!Guard !This way for the runaway convicts !".At last , Pip saw the convict to be caught and taken into the prison-ship .
In my opinion , this is an interesting story and attracts readers so much . This week i just read to this chapter and i will try to read more .Thanks for reading my blog !!!
