The Witches by Roald Dahl illustrated by Quentin Blake Page 47~64

It was summer hoilday so the Narrator and his grandmother were planning to go to Norway. However, his grandmother became very ill. A nurse moved in to her house and had to take care of her. The Narrator couldn't see her because of her illness. Ten days later the doctor said that he could see her now. The doctor said the Narrator's grandmother was ok now, but they couldn't go to Norway. The Narrator's grandmother wasn't healthy enough to go to a long journey. The Narrator and his grandmother became sad. The doctor told they could go to a nice hotel on the south coast of England. He said they could enjoy the sea air. When they headed to the hotel his grandmother give him two mices for a present. The Narrator liked the mice so he named the mice, William and Mary. He was teaching William and Mary some tricks. The Manager of the hotel found out that he had mice. The Manager had a word with his grandmother and she said that you had rats in your hotel. So the Manager just let them keep the mices but only in there cage. The Narrator took his mice to a safer place to teach them tricks. The hotel was big so he searched the place and he found a ball room. It was full of ladies. He noticed they were witches!

The Narrator founded there meeting that the witches have every year. I wonder if there is the Grand High Witch. It is becoming more interesting because he found out the secret meeting and he could tell his grandmother and wipe down all the witches. First i think the Narrator would play on a trick on the witches with his mices.

I think you may be too optimistic! If I suddenly found myself in a hotel that was full of witches, I would be scared. That boy -- and maybe his grandmother, too -- are in great danger. Even one witch is scary; imagine a ballroom full of them!
