the second summer of the sisterhood, by Ann Brashares

I've seen the movie of the 1st summer, the title is the sisterhood travelling pants (if i'm not mistake),but this is my first time read the novel. there are 4 girls who joined as a group, Septembers, why septembers? because they were born within seventeen days of each other. they are lena, tibby, bridget, and carmen. they are sharing a pants, a jeans pants, which has a magic. four of them have a different sizes of pants but magically, the pants fits into all of them! it's sounds weird but, they also have rules for that magic won't gone. for example, they will never wash their pants! each person have a story for the whole first summer, but this is the second summer.
Bridget found a letter from her grandmom that she doesn't know she has a grandmom, Brigdet's mom passed in the first summer, it has been a really tough year for her but with the other sisterhood's helps, she could pass it. Greta Randolph is her mother's mother, she stays at alabama. Bridget was so angry that her father keep Greta away from her and Perry, her brother. her father said that he didn't want his childrens have a contact with Greta, he tried to forbid Bridget for go to Alabama but Bridget did not listen, this summer she will go to her Grandma.
when Bridget told Lena that she want to go, Lena felt a little bit dissapointed but this is something that Bee would do.
Tibby want to spend her summer in college.
Carmen and Lena don't go anywhere but stay in the city.
like usual, they all have a ceremony with the jeans at their place in Gilda's Aerobics Studio at every last night before they are seperated to spend their summer.

I like this story because i can learned so many things in the first movie. I cried when i saw the movie! so that's why i choose this book. from the start Bridget is really a hard person and Lena is the gentle one. Carmen the baby, and Tibby is the least physical. I think that the way Bridget father separated her with her grandma it's not a good way for a family. because eventhough he tried to separated Bee with her grandma, Greta, Greta still tried to keep in touch with her grandkids. she still send them a letter. I know how it's feel to be tibby, the way she felt her mother shipped her to college. but I think Lena and Carmen will have a great summer too. by the way i still forget which city are the sisterhood live. we can read the rules of the pants at the first page and they have a prologue to tell us about the begining of the sisterhood travelling pants.
