These chapter mention the cruel behaviors by the owners. They hurted their slaves evry time the slaves do what made the owner irritated. They whipped the slaves until the blood flows at their feet. Also, they bought and sold their slaves. The slaves were not allowed to earn own money. They was forced to work for free. Harriet's uncle, Ben, could'nt stand his labored life, and he tried to escape. However, the escape was failure. He was thrown into prison and whipped. Then he decide to die. Furthermore, Harriet's owner, Dr.Flints, try to seduce her by his authority.
I can't believe that someone buy and sell people. Why did white people discriminate black people? The defference is just skin color. Although I have never seen the discrimination like that, are there the discrimination even now?
