Jess didn't see Leslie Burke agian except from a distance until the first day of school,the following Tuesday,when Mr.Turner brought her dowm to Mrs. Myers fifth grade class at Lark Creek Elementary. Leslie dressed in the faded cutoffs and the bule undershirt . She had sneakers on her feet but no socks. She stood there,in front,and Mrs.Myers is trying to figure where to put the extra desk. Mrs.Myers finally decided to put the desk up anainst the side wall near the front.Then, she said to student to pass out the arithmetic books. As Jess passed Leslie's desk, he feels so sorry to her, because he couldn't help to her. Next, after a morning, boys have a footrace. Of course Jess will join. Also, he ensure he will win this race. Jess is watching quietly as Gary Fulcher vosses everyone around when Leslie comes up to stand beside him. She also wants to join this race , but Gary Fulcher and some other boys told to Leslie to go back the other side of the field. Jess knows this race is really autocratically and unfairly, so he stands up to Gary. Gary angrys and derisively suggests that perhaps Jess wants to let a girl run. Jess said that Gary was scard that a girl could beat him,so Gary let Leslie run. Then,in the finally race, Leslie beat all the boys . Next, the first week of school passes.The worse thing than before is Leslie continued to join the races at recess,and every day she wins. Then, by the end of the week, there will be no more races. Also, Jess continues to avoid Leslie. In addition, Mrs. Edmunds comes to class on Friday. During class, they sing "Free To Be You and Me". In the middle of the song, Jess suddenly realizes he doesn't need to acoid to Leslie. After that, they are good friend. In their conversation Jess learns a lot from Leslie. Also, Leslie tells a lot of her before story to Jess. One day in school, Mrs. Myers reads aloud an essay is Leslie wrote, but Jess feels a little sad, because he have never written the essary only for his hobby. When Mrs.Myers finishes to read Leslie's essary,she gives students a homework about watch a TV show, and writ one page to tell about what you learned. However, Leslie tells to teacher she doesn't habe a TV in her house. Every student laughs, and make fun of her. After school,in the bus ,she sits on the back of the bus seat. That is for seventhgrade student.They always bully to the younger student. Jess runs to the seat and tries to retrieve Leslie.Jess and Leslie past Janice and make way for them. After that ,they spend the time to play near the creek at afternoon.Then,Leslie suggests they need a place only ofr Jess and Leslie. It's a secret only they know----magic land. The place is on the other side of the creek. Leslie makes a name to" Terabithia".Finally, they are not really comfortable to spend time at either family's house, because each family has different situation for them, but the Terabithis is the only place they can enjoy for their own time and their really nice friendship.

I think this book a little difficult for me, because I spend many times to read agian and agian . I like this book . The story makes me feels so exciting. Jess and Leslie are really nice people . Leslie is a special girl. Also Terabithia is for people to creative more illusion's place. I wish I can join together with them. I think next story is more excited. I will know more thing about Terabithis.
